URBYN didn't begin as a tech company. It began with inspections — hundreds of them, done by hand.
After enough of them, we realised something. Every experienced inspector asks the same questions. Every experienced inspector notices the same warning signs.
The problem was never that things couldn't be inspected properly. It was that knowing what to look for lived in a handful of people's heads.
So we wrote the process down. Then we built it into an engine that runs it the same way, every time.
Today, every URBYN inspection follows the same framework — built from years of doing the work, applied the same way on every job.

Big Dipstick Energy, and we mean that with love. Jarryd started URBYN alongside Mike — reconditioning, trading, and the occasional decision that needed a second opinion. He now runs the machinery that keeps the doors open, the things that have to hold up when someone disputes a report. Still working on cars, because a hobby turned into an obsession.
Maia

The brains, allegedly. Maia arrived as the girlfriend who kept getting called down to the garage to look at whatever the two of them had done now, and stayed to write it all down. What Mike and Jarryd learned by hand is now an engine that runs the same checks on every car, whoever's holding the phone. Still the one who gets called when something doesn't add up.

Cars first, business second. Mike is the other half of the chaos. He can tell you what's wrong with a car from the passenger seat, which is a great party trick right up until it's your car. Detailing, reconditioning, buying, selling — he's done the lot, and every check in the URBYN process is one he wrote.
